#AAF with This Momma's Ramblings

I have to admit to you guys...I've been really busy at work and my blogging is suffering.  I did just write a fantastic post, that I'm really hoping one of the bigger sites will pick up - but that will take a few weeks.  I didn't even have a glimmer of a regular Thursday post ready at 2 o'clock on Friday morning when I spied a #BuddyRequest for #AskAwayFriday. A little over 15 hours later, and this is the result!

But first, in case you've been living under a rock...let me tell you about...

Airing my Dirty Laundry #LoseTheCape

I have a system for doing laundry. Okay...maybe it's not so much a system...there's really not much system to it - it's just my reality - but nonetheless it's working for me. And today I'm going to share it with you. For free.

First - I should point out that I didn't do my own laundry until I moved in with my ex-husband. Not for lack of trying - but my mom was super protective of the machines. I lived at home and went to a local college and truthfully...it wasn't so bad having someone to do my laundry for me.

The Tools to Get You Through Co-Parenting After Divorce

Since your divorce have you felt like you're completely helpless and don't know what to do?  Checking out Divorce Blogs is a great start.  But there are other tools...psychologists, divorce attorneys, mediators.  And you don't have to splash out for all of them - some of them have written some fantastic books!  One thing I like about my favourites - they offer advice like a good friend would over a nice coffee.

Check out the books that I use as tools to help me to co-parent effectively after divorce - I've reviewed them for DivorcedMoms.com.

Developing a Love of Reading for a Child with Learning Disabilities

My son is a diagnosed dysgraphic.  I've blogged about it before: (Diagnosis: Dysgraphia). He struggles even with the basic concepts of reading.  He gets so very frustrated at the words on the page, because they are absorbed by his eyes, translated in his head, and often come out garbled.

But he loves books.

He's lucky for the early dysgraphia diagnosis.  Unlike some dyslexics, he can and will be able to read at some point, with practice.  And with some accommodation and hard work, decoding words becomes less of a chore every day.
