A Movie Addict's Guide to New York City

While in New York, I realized that in addition to my favorite Doctor Who episodes, just how many of my favorite movies had been filmed there.

The first movie I can ever remember seeing about NYC was The Muppet Take Manhattan.  Hubs and I had an odd conversation wherein I explained I was worried about muggers while we were in Central Park - because some idiot had mugged Miss Piggy there.  Of course, I'm sure that he's reformed if he lived through the experience...and it was probably about 30 years ago...but still.

Y'all know by now that I am a total Nerd Girl...and one of the biggest fans of Doctor Who there is.  And as we're heading to NYC next week, I thought maybe I'd provide you a list of the top ten things that a Whovian (that's a big ass Doctor Who fan) should see.

Divorcing? Look for the Right Kind of Advice

Divorce is never easy.  You're talking about some very strong emotions.  You might be the leaver - you might be the person who was left.  Whether you had to make the decision or had the decision made for you - it's a very difficult time.  You suddenly have to come to terms with the fact that your marriage, as it was, no longer exists.

As much mocking was made of Gwynneth Paltrow and Chris Martin and their decision to "consciously uncouple", there is some sense in taking the sting out of the process.  You might have seen my article in DivorcedMoms.com speaking about the process, and getting through it with your Integrity and Self Respect in Tact.

Ask Away Friday With Jenessa

So last week was my very first #AAF Ask Away Friday.  I swapped questions with April from the 100 lb Countdown.  And truthfully...I was going to take a break for a month or so.  But while I was hopping through the #AAF blogs, I came across the lovely Jenessa Mullen from Mothering {In Real Life}.  Like me, Jenssa was also an #AAF virgin until last week.  And so we came together and this was the result.

But before I start - a recap on Ask Away Friday:

#AskAwayFriday was created by the amazing Penny from Real Housewife of Caroline County as a way to connect with other bloggers.  The format is a a great Q & A session between two blogs - 10 questions and 10 answers!  It's a great opportunity to get familiar with other blogs (and bloggers), as well as to promote your own blog.  And the added bonus is you can make new friends!
These ladies are the amazing #AskAwayFriday hosts…

True Inspiration: My Favourite Divorce Bloggers

I'm just over three months into my blogging journey, and I was struck this morning by the sense of camaraderie that I already feel with my cohorts.  So for the next few blogs, I thought I'd write about my new favourite bloggers (and my new favourite women).

Today, I'm featuring three of my favourite divorce bloggers.  If you haven't read their blogs, I encourage you to link up with them (I've provided links to their blogs as well as their Twitter and Facebook Fan pages).  They are all very intelligent, wise, and funny women who have taken a bad situation and tried very hard to make the best of it.  I've chosen three women who are all in their post-divorce period, but each experienced the divorce and recovery in a very different way.
